Founder/Director - Glenn McCormick

I started Kids Nature Adventures because I believe that positive experiences in nature are an essential part of childhood and that every child should experience that sense of wonder that only nature can provide.  I want the same thing for every child at Kids Nature Adventures that I want for my own daughter – to be safe and to have plenty of exciting and enjoyable open-ended time for exploration and play in nature.   Join us for an inspiring outdoor experience.  We provide the guidance and supervision – but nature will be the teacher.

I live in San Francisco with my wife and two children.  I hold a B.A. in history, an M.A. in Health, Physical Education and Recreation, and a CA Teaching Credential.  I have been an educator for over 15 years and currently teach at Thurgood Marshall High School in SF.   Hiking, camping, fly-fishing
and exploring the natural areas around the Bay Area are my favorite ways to spend free time.

Rachel Sinadinos
Rachel is back for her fifth summer with Kids Nature Adventures.   She is a  graduate of Michigan State University where she earned her B.A. in Sociology.  She currently works with special needs children at Claire Lilianthal Elementary School in San Francisco.  Rachel's energy, enthusiasm and love for the outdoors inspires all the kids she works with.

Jon Oberto
Jon is returning for his fourth summer with Kids Nature Adventures.  Jon has a B.A. in Political Science from Colorado State University,  an M.A. in Bilingual Education from USF and holds a CA Teaching Credential.  He currently teaches at Roosevelt Middle School in SF and has over 20 years of experience in the classroom.  Jon lives in SF with his wife and two children.  His hobbies include hiking, camping, fly-fishing, and fly tying and he can't wait to share his passion for the outdoors with our campers.

Hillary Trainor
Hillary is excited about returning to KNA for her second summer.  She has a B.A. from Westmont College in Santa Barbara and is currently pursuing her elementary level teaching credential at San Francisco State University.   In addition to her studies, Hillary is a full-time teachers assistant at New Traditions Elementary School.   Hiking, biking, and reading is how Hillary likes to spend her free time.

Counselors:
Kids Nature Adventures hires only highly qualified individuals with verifiable experience working with children. All of our counselors have at least a college degree and undergo a thorough background check.   In fact, all of our staff members are educators during the school year and all have leadership experience. Creating a safe environment is our top priority and because we maintain a low staff/child ratio it allows us to make sure that all campers are under the supervision of a counselor at all times.
